Delivery Boy Abducted and Beaten in Gurugram Over Rs 6.5 Lakh Dispute

Two men were arrested in Gurugram after a delivery worker was abducted and assaulted in Cyber City over a disputed Rs 6.5 lakh. The incident, captured on video, prompted police to recover a car and a wooden stick, with investigations ongoing into the motives and timeline.

Two men in Gurugram have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and beating a delivery worker in public to recover Rs 6.5 lakh they claimed was stolen, with a video of the assault spreading widely online and raising concern about safety in the busy corporate district.

Police said the attack happened in broad daylight in Cyber City, Gurugram, and identified the arrested suspects as Jaiveer and Aman. Officers stated both allegedly abducted the victim, who works as a delivery boy, after a long-standing dispute about missing cash.

Gurugram kidnapping over Rs 6.5 lakh shocks Cyber City

Officials from Gurugram Police explained that a passerby noticed the kidnapping and quickly alerted authorities. An Emergency Vehicle Response (EVR) team rushed to the spot, where the suspects reportedly tried to escape, but officers chased the vehicle, detained the men and freed the delivery worker.

During questioning, police said Jaiveer claimed the kidnapped man was a friend. Jaiveer allegedly told officers that in 2024, after selling a truck, Rs 6.5 lakh was kept in a car and later disappeared. The victim was accused of taking the money and ignoring repeated demands.

According to the complaint, the victim, originally from Bhiwani, was returning after delivering company goods with colleague Pankaj on January 21 around 5:30 pm. Their route near the Suzuki showroom on SBI Road was blocked by a car, and another vehicle arrived moments later, surrounding them on the busy stretch.

Police said several men, including Jaiveer and Aman, then got out and allegedly hit the delivery worker with a wooden stick. The group also threatened to kill the victim before forcing the person into their car and driving off, while people nearby watched and someone filmed the incident. Watch the video here:

The EVR team later seized one car and recovered the wooden stick suspected to have been used in the assault. A police spokesperson stated that the accused wanted to threaten the victim and recover the disputed money, but the plan collapsed after quick information shared by the passerby and the colleague.

Gurugram Police confirmed that both arrested men have been presented before a court, and further legal action is in progress. The case has highlighted how a personal dispute over money, dating back to 2024, allegedly escalated into a public kidnapping in one of Gurugram’s busiest business zones.
