In a shocking incident of road rage in New Delhi, a woman and her two sons were arrested for allegedly assaulting a 50-year-old head constable. The incident took place on September 15 in the Khayala area of West Delhi, near the Ghode Wala temple in Raghubir Nagar.
Attack on Head Constable

The three accused reportedly attacked head constable MG Rajesh with an iron rod and bricks after their car brushed past his vehicle. They left him unconscious on a West Delhi road before fleeing the scene. The assault was so severe that it resulted in significant injuries to the constable who required immediate medical attention.
Investigation and Arrests
The Delhi Police launched an investigation into this egregious act of violence after being informed about it. "We came to know about an incident where a 50-year-old man was thrashed by three persons near Raghubir Nagar area," said Vichitra Veer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West). During their investigation, they discovered that the victim was not just any citizen but one of their own - a head constable with the Delhi Police.
An FIR was promptly registered regarding this case and following due process, all three culprits --a woman and her two sons-- were apprehended on Monday. It is noteworthy that such prompt action from law enforcement sends out a strong message against violent acts such as these.
Incident Details
According to the complainant's account, he was returning home from work at Tilak Nagar when around 11 pm while crossing a slum area near Ghoda Wala temple, another car overtook his vehicle aggressively causing minor contact between both vehicles. This seemingly trivial event triggered an extreme reaction from those inside the other vehicle leading to brutal physical assault upon him.
In conclusion, this incident serves as a grim reminder of the escalating problem of road rage in our cities. It is imperative that stringent measures are taken to ensure such incidents do not become commonplace. The quick response and subsequent arrest by the Delhi Police certainly sends out a reassuring message about their commitment towards maintaining law and order. However, it also highlights the need for preventive strategies, including awareness campaigns on anger management and respect for others on the road.
