Delhi Police Arrests Man and Seizes 787 kg of Cannabis Hidden in Truck
A man has been apprehended by Delhi Police in Swaroop Nagar for allegedly transporting 787 kg of cannabis concealed in a truck, officials reported on Saturday. The arrest followed a tip-off that led to a police operation near Nangli Poona in Swaroop Nagar.

The truck, registered in Uttar Pradesh, was driven by Mohd Jabir from Bareilly. Upon inspection, authorities discovered the cannabis hidden within packets of corn. Deputy Commissioner of Police Outer North Nidhin Valsan confirmed these details.
Investigation and Arrest
During questioning, Jabir revealed that he received instructions from a person named Sonu in Meerut. He was directed to Kalahandi district in Odisha, where a man named Raju handed him the truck loaded with the concealed cannabis.
Jabir was instructed to wait in Swaroop Nagar upon reaching Delhi. It was there that the police apprehended him. The operation was part of a larger effort to curb drug trafficking in the region.
Previous Legal Issues
The accused also disclosed his past legal troubles. He had previously spent over seven months in an Andhra Pradesh prison related to a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act before securing bail.
This arrest highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to tackle drug-related crimes. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details about the network involved in this operation.
