Declare TN floor test null and void: Madras HC notice to speaker

A division bench also issued notices to the assembly secretary.

The Madras high court has issued notices to the speaker of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly on a petition that sought to declare the trust as null and void. A division bench comprising Justices Huluvadi Ramesh and Justice R Mahadevan also issued notices to the assembly secretary.

The trust vote held in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly witnessed chaotic scenes two weeks back. E Palanisami who took the floor test was won the same amidst absolute chaos and the opposition being forced out of the assembly.

The opposition had complained the governor of the state and asked him to order a fresh floor test. The opposition had also complained that their demand for a secret ballot was also rejected.
