Cyclone Hudhud may intensify in the next 12 hours

Vishakapatnam, Oct 10: Cyclone Hudhud may get worse in the next 12 hours. The Cyclone over East Central Bay of Bengal had moved westnorth westward and lay centered over West Central Bay and adjoining East Central Bay at 17.30 hoursyesterday at about 675 km east-southwest of Visakhapatnam, according to a weather office report yesterday night.

The depression is likely to move west-north westwards to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. The depression is likely to cross north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts between Vishakapatnam and Gopalpur for forenoon of October 12, said the report.

Distant warning signal number two have been kept hoisted at Machilipatnam, Visakhapatnam, and Krishnapatnam ports. Kakinada and Gangavaram ports have distant warning signal number 2 and section signal number 2. Fishermen have been warned not to venture out into the sea and those at sea have been advised to return to coast.
