Couple die as jeep falls into 500-foot gorge in Ooty
Udhagamandalam (TN), Mar 4: An elderly couple were killed when the jeep in which they were travelling plunged into a 500-foot deep gorge near Katteri on a ghat road.
Premnath (60) and his wife Meenakshi (54) died on the spot in the mishap that occurred last night while they were returning to nearby Coonoor from Coimbatore, police said.

A lorry driver noticed the jeep, in front of him, falling into the gorge and informed the police, who along with Fire and Rescue Personnel retrieved the bodies in the wee hours today, they said.
