Cong rift: Digvijay's "ideologies" do not match with Chidu's son; wants him out?
Targetting him indirectly, Singh said,"We are an inclusive party. Those who disagree with this idea can leave the party."
He further added,"We are a political ideology which believes in liberal modern inclusive politics and inclusive economy. We believe in inclusive socio-economic policy. Anyone who doesn't believe in this ideology can go wherever he wants to."
On an earlier occasion, Karthi had complained about the functioning of party in Tamil Nadu. He had demanded more autonomy for the Tamil Nadu Congress.
Showing concern over members exiting the party, the young leader said that the party was falling weak as all the decisions were directed from the Delhi High Command. He said,"We need to revisit observer style of functioning. Tamil Nadu congress requires more autonomy. Solution cannot come from Delhi. I would like state unit to be like Kerala. It is an independent strong unit. They run unit in autonomous manner."
The Tamil Nadu Congress unit suffered a major blow when GK Vasan left the party to relaunch his father's Tamil Manila Congress party. He did this after the appointment of Elangovan as the new party chief in the state.
Speaking on this, Digvijay said,"It is not the first time that GK Vasan has left the party. He had left in 1996 as well."
