Congress launches app-based, online membership drive
New Delhi, Mar 30: In order to strengthen the party base, Congress on Monday launched an online and app-based membership drive in Capital.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh launched the drive.

"Launching Android-App based @INCIndia membership drive-Enrolling Dr Manmohan Singh & his wife Gursharan ji in Delhi!," Ajay Maken tweeted.
After Maken became the chief of DPCC, a massive membership exercise facilitated by web-based applications was at the top of party's list of priorities, aimed at reviving the Congress'fortunes in Delhi.
Maken said that with the launch of new app was to make it more convenient to become a member of the part.
The party drew a blank in the 2015 Assembly poll in which several senior party leaders lost badly.
Congress' launch of app comes at a time when BJP recorded a primary membership nearing 8.8 crore, to become the largest political party in the world, leaving behind the Communist Party of China. [With 8.79 crore members, BJP becomes world's largest political party]
