LIVE: Chandrayaan-3 Mission Accomplished, Spacecraft On Path To Moon

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday launched Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The mission will attempt to soft-land a rover on the Moon's surface, after the previous mission, Chandrayaan-2, crashed during its landing attempt in 2019. The mission will be broadcast live on the ISRO website and on social media.

Improvements Made To Ensure A Safe Landing

Chandrayaan-3's rover is similar to Chandrayaan-2's Pragyan rover. However, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has made improvements to the rover to help ensure a safe landing. The power generation capacities of the propulsion module, the lander module, and the rover are 758 Watts, 738 Watts, and 50 Watts, respectively.
