Who Is Leading Chandrayaan-3 Launch Control Operations?
In a significant moment for the nation, Chayan Dutta, a highly accomplished Assamese scientist, has been appointed to oversee the launch control operations of the much-anticipated Chandrayaan-3 mission, marking a significant moment for the nation and the scientific community of the state.
Dutta, an alumnus of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Tezpur University, currently serves as the Deputy Project Director for the "On Board Command Telemetry, Data Handling and Storage System, Lander, Chandrayaan-3" at the UR Rao Satellite Centre, Department of Space.

As the head of this crucial subsystem, known as the command and data handling subsystem, Dutta plays a vital role in controlling all spacecraft functions, serving as the "brains" of the orbiter.

Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission, is scheduled for launch by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) aboard the Mark-III launch vehicle from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 14.
