The report highlights an individual dubbed the "nation's biggest foodie" in Mumbai, who placed a jaw-dropping 3,580 orders through Zomato in a year, averaging more than nine orders per day.

City-wise Food Ordering Patterns
Another Mumbai local set a new record by placing 121 orders in a single day through Zomato. The food delivery giant outlined distinct eating habits across cities, with Bengaluru topping the charts for breakfast orders, while Delhi led in late-night cravings.

Bengaluru Takes the Lead
Bengaluru claimed the top spot for the most significant single order, amounting to Rs 46,273. Additionally, a Bengaluru resident placed 1,389 gift orders on Zomato, totaling Rs 6.6 lakh.

10 Crore Biryani and 7 Crore Pizzas
Zomato's report revealed fascinating statistics, stating that India ordered over 10 crore biryanis and 7 crore pizzas. Illustrating these figures, biryani orders could fill eight Qutub Minars in Delhi, while pizzas could cover an area larger than five Eden Garden cricket stadiums in Kolkata.

Zomato's report coincides with a similar release from its rival, Swiggy. Both platforms concur that biryani maintains its reign as India's most-ordered dish for the eighth consecutive year. Swiggy disclosed that in 2023, India ordered 2.5 biryanis every second.
