Bomb scare near mahabodhi temple, bomb disposal squad arrives

Bodh Gaya, Jan 9: The temple town of Gaya has been rocked yet again-this time with a bomb scare-rooting from an unattended black bag. The bomb disposal squad is at the location.

Earlier, a bomb explosion had rocked the city when a series of ten explosions injured five people. Three other devices were defused by the bomb disposal squads at a number of locations in Gaya.

The Mahabodhi Mahavihara is an important temple for Buddhists worldwide. The bombs exploded between 05:30 and 06:00 IST (00:30-01:00 UTC), concurrently with the Sutta chanting and meditation which begin the daily routine of the mahavihara.
