Accident in Mumbai: Unlike Salman Khan, no reprieve for this Bollywood choreographer
Mumbai, June 16: Months after the accident, there's no reprieve for Bollywood choreographer Geeta Kapoor. The choreographer landed in legal trouble following a rash and negligent driving case in Mumbai.
42-year-old Kapoor, who was driving a Sedan, knocked down a pedestrian in Mar 2015. She has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Now, Kapoor moved the Bombay High Court informing the court that she and the family members of the victim have reached to an out-of-court settlement. She also told that the victim, 37-year-old Nisar Noormohammed, now was ready to withdraw his complaint against the choreographer.

Kapoor's lawyer informed the court that she had taken the victim to Kokilaben Hospital and had borne all medical expenses (Rs 7 lakh) of the victim, who had suffered a fracture on his right knee.
However, the Bombay High Court refused to pay heed to Kapoor's statement regarding out-of-court financial settlement and asked her to work out new terms. Despite Kapoor's decision of handing over a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to the victim, the High Court did not quash the case. The court asked Kapoor and her lawyers to have another meeting with Noormohammed to work out a fresh settlement.
Unlike Salman Khan, Geeta Kapoor now will have to wait for some more days to get reprieve from the case. Salman Khan, who was found guilty in 2002 hit-and-run case, has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court. The court now is scheduled to hear his case on July 1, 2015.
