BMW Car Seized By ED From Ex-Jharkhand CM's Residence Belongs To This Leader, Not Hemant Soren

According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) source, the BMW car, which was seized by the investigating agency from former Jharkhand Chief Minster and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Chief Hemant Soren's residence in Delhi, does not belong to him.

The reports said the luxury car belongs to Congress' Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, who made headlines last year after a huge amount of cash was recovered from his premises. At the time, the cash recovery operation lasted for 10 days, involving the use of 40 currency counting machines to handle the extensive task.

BMW Seized By ED Doesnt Belong To Soren

The car's registration papers are by the name of Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, Congress's Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand.

Hemant Soren, who was apprehended last week, is currently under investigation in relation to an alleged scheme involving the illicit alteration of land ownership orchestrated by a mafia network in Jharkhand.

He tendered his resignation as Chief Minister of Jharkhand shortly before his arrest. Denying the allegations leveled against him, he has accused the BJP of misusing investigative agencies to undermine democratically elected administrations.

During the raid, the sleuths at Soren's residence seized a blue color BMW car, that worth lakhs.

Hemant Soren, who was allowed by the court to take part in the floor test for the newly-formed Champai Soren Government, former CM had challenged the authorities to prove the allegations against him. He said that he would quit politics if found. ED's actions are only a conspiracy by the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
