1 year of Modi Sarkar: BJP to hold mass outreach exercise akin to pre-election blitz

New Delhi, May 23: In a massive outreach exercise similar to BJP's pre-election blitz, the party will hold 200 rallies on completion of one year by its government with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the first in Deen Dayal Upadhyay's native village on May 25, and 5000 public meetings.

Announcing BJP's celebratory plans as part of the "Jan Kalyan Parv' from May 25 to May 31, senior party leader and Union Minister Ananth Kumar said all Union ministers, party MPs, chief ministers and MLAs, besides central and state office bearers of the party will criss-cross the country to highlight the government's achievements.

Modi will address a rally on Monday at village Nagla Chandrabhan in Mathura of Uttar Pradesh, which is Upadhyay's birth place. Kumar said there will a total of 200 press conferences to take the initiatives of the Narendra Modi-led government to the people.

A press conference will be addressed by BJP chief Amit Shah in Delhi on May 26 and he will address a public rally in Karnal on the same day. [People retain hope in Modi Govt, but time's running out]

The next day Shah will be in Surat and from there he will go to Panaji on May 28. He will address press conferences in the morning and public rallies in the evening at both the places.

He added that exhibitions and melas will be put up at various places in the country to highlight the new social security schemes of the government to help people benefit from them.

There will be a total of 200 press conferences and 500 exhibitions of Modi government's initiatives," he said.

He added that every central minister will give three days to the exercise during which they will address three big rallies and three press conferences to highlight the achievements of the government.

Modi's successful Lok Sabha election campaign had seen him holding 5,827 public meetings, mixing traditional methods of holding rallies with innovative use of technology.

Termed by the BJP as "one of the largest" mass outreach in India's electoral history, Modi had addressed 437 public meetings in 25 states besides 1350 3-D rallies since September 15, 2013 when he held his first public rally after being declared as the party's Prime Ministerial candidate.

BJP had claimed Modi had reached out directly to anywhere between 5-10 crore people.
