BJP Government Secures Water Supply for Shekhawati Region Amidst Congress Criticism

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced an agreement with Haryana to channel Yamuna river water to the Shekhawati region. This move addresses a long-standing demand of the local population. Speaking at an election rally in Jhunjhunu, Sharma criticised the Congress for misleading people on this issue.

BJP Brings Water to Shekhawati Region

Sharma accused Congress of betraying the Shekhawati region. He claimed that Congress leaders had promised to cancel the Yamuna water agreement in their Haryana Assembly election manifesto. He further alleged that Congress has led the country into corruption and divisive politics.

Accusations Against Congress

Sharma alleged that Congress's policies have harmed the nation through appeasement and caste-based politics. He praised the central government under Narendra Modi, highlighting several policies as evidence of BJP's non-discriminatory approach.

"When we give Kisan Samman Nidhi, Vridhajan Samman, Awas, Food Security and electricity connection to farmers, we do not look at caste and religion," he stated. "We have not done any kind of discrimination in the development of 200 assembly constituencies of the state. Each assembly constituency has been given an adequate budget," he added.

Development Initiatives

Sharma criticised Congress for delaying the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), which he said was neglected for too long. Upon assuming office, his government promptly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project and plans to lay its foundation stone soon.

In addition to Jhunjhunu, Sharma campaigned in Ramgarh, Dausa, and Deoli-Uniara to support party candidates. The bypolls for seven assembly seats are scheduled for November 13, with results expected on November 23.

Sharma emphasised that his government is committed to equitable development across all assembly constituencies in Rajasthan. He assured that each constituency receives a fair share of resources without bias towards any community or religion.
