Ashwini Vaishnaw, Vasundhara Raje, Balak Nath, CP Joshi, Gajendra Shekhawat: BJP's Options For Rajasthan CM

Union Minister for Indian Railways, Ashwani Vaishnav, is likely to be rewarded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the good job done at the Centre. According to the reports, Ashwani Vaishnav is the latest entry in the race for Rajasthan's Chief Ministerial position along with former CM Vasundhara Raje, the party's Hindu face in the state Mahant Balak Nath, Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and Rajasthan Unit Chief CP Joshi.

Rajasthan has a 200-member Assembly, of which 199 seats went under polling. Election on one seat was postponed due to the death of a candidate. In Rajasthan Assembly Election Results 2023, 115 BJP candidates emerged victorious. The saffron front campaign was a collective effort by state leaders under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

While Ashok Gehlot-led Congress managed to save only 69 seats. Two seats were bagged by Mayawati's BSP and others got 13 seats.

Head To Head With Prominent Leaders:

Ashwini Vaishnaw: He is known to be a close ally to PM Modi and is currently heading several important departments including the Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology.

Vasundhara Raje: Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje led the state twice in the past. She again registered a massive victory from the Jhalrapatan constituency by a margin of 53,193 votes.

Mahant Balak Nath: Alwar MP Mahant Balak Nath is another big name and a Hindutva face for the party in the state. He emerged victorious from the Tijara assembly constituency defeating Congress candidate Imran Khan by a margin of 6,173 votes.

CP Joshi: Rajasthan state unit chief CP Joshi has been powering the roots of the party for years, even when Congress was in power. He hails from the Chittorgarh constituencies and is said to be a frontrunner for CM's post.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat: The Union Jal Shakti Minister is popular among the people as he brought tap water to most of the houses. He is close to Union Minister Amit Shah.
