Braveheart Army Jawan Pardeep Singh Laid to Rest with Full Military Honours after Tragic Encounter in J&K
On Tuesday, the mortal remains of army jawan Pardeep Singh were consigned to flames with full military honours in his native Ballamgarh village situated in Patiala district. Singh was martyred while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, demonstrating exemplary valour and dedication towards safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.
Martyrdom in Anantnag District

The 27-year-old soldier's body was recovered from the dense forests of Gadole located in Kashmir Valley’s Anantnag district on Monday. He had been missing since September 13, which marked the first day of a fierce encounter with terrorists. Two other army officers -- a coloneland a major -- along with a deputy superintendent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police also laid down their lives during this gunfight that took place within Kokorenag area's higher reaches last week.
A Final Salute
Singh’s body was subsequently taken to his native village Samana where he received an emotional farewell from his family members. His wife Seema Rani, father Darshan Singh, and brother Kuldeep Singh saluted him for one final time as they bid adieu to their beloved family member who made the supreme sacrifice for his country.
Service Record
Born in 1996, Pardeep Singh had joined the Indian Army back in 2015. He served with the prestigious 18 Sikh Light Infantry before being posted with the 19 Rashtriya Rifles unit based out of Kashmir at present.

Prominent individuals including Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra paid heartfelt tributes to martyr Pardeep Singh. Senior officials representing various arms of government such as district administration, police force and the army also marked their presence during this solemn occasion. The entire nation mourns the loss of these brave soldiers who put service before self and laid down their lives in defence of our country.
