A scathing critique is now out in the open against his former protege. Anna says, it is only Kejriwal who is responsible for his own arrest in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Anna Hazare Blames Kejriwal

Despite his support for the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) inception, Hazare has repeatedly voiced disapproval of its policies, including the non-disclosure of donors' lists back in 2016.

Hazare's recent remarks reflect his disillusionment with Kejriwal's political trajectory and underline the significance of ethical governance in public office. While refraining from direct confrontation, Kejriwal and the AAP have faced criticism for failing to uphold the principles advocated during the anti-corruption movement.

The Delhi Liquor Policy Case:

The Enforcement Directorate's pursuit of the Delhi liquor policy case has cast a shadow over Kejriwal's administration, culminating in his arrest.

At the heart of the controversy lies the alleged anomalies in the 2021-22 liquor policy, which purportedly favored certain stakeholders at the expense of financial integrity. The policy's provisions, characterised by exorbitant profit margins and kickbacks, have triggered accusations of corruption and cronyism within the AAP ranks.

In November 2021, the Delhi government spearheaded an ambitious excise policy aimed at modernising alcohol sales across the city. However, the policy's implementation was marred by allegations of financial impropriety and regulatory violations, prompting an official inquiry.

Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar's report to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena highlighted substantial financial losses and irregularities, prompting the initiation of a thorough investigation.

The allegations against Kejriwal and AAP members revolve around their purported complicity in facilitating undue benefits for select entities involved in the liquor trade. .

The Enforcement Directorate's intervention highlights the gravity of the situation, with Kejriwal's arrest marking a huge political move as the nation inches closer to General Elections.
