Andhra Pradesh CM Directs Focus on Sand Availability, Essential Prices

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted a comprehensive review of various departments on Tuesday. He instructed officials to address road infrastructure issues, ensure sand availability, and work on reducing the prices of essential commodities.

Naidu met with relevant Ministers and officials at the secretariat to assess the current situation. He emphasised that due to the policies of the previous YSRCP government, people are facing significant challenges. "Take measures to immediately resolve them," Naidu directed officials, according to an official press release.

Focus on Sand Availability

During the review, Naidu highlighted the importance of sand for construction and instructed officials to ensure its immediate availability. He stressed that there should be no shortage of sand across the state and urged officials to control its price as well.

Naidu also called for a new, people-friendly sand policy. This move aims to streamline sand distribution and pricing, addressing one of the critical issues affecting construction activities in the state.

Road Infrastructure Overhaul

The Chief Minister pointed out that road infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh is in poor condition due to the negligence of the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government. He directed officials to incorporate modern technology in road repairs and prioritise this work to alleviate public suffering.

Naidu noted that repairing roads across the state is a significant challenge. He emphasised the need for immediate measures such as pothole repairs and other temporary relief works while planning for long-term solutions.

Controlling Prices of Essential Commodities

In a separate review meeting with agriculture, marketing, and civil supplies department officials, Naidu directed them to control the prices of essential items like rice, cereals, tomatoes, and onions. He mentioned that the state would coordinate with the Centre on importing essential items to help manage their prices.

Naidu's directives aim to create both short-term and long-term plans to address these issues based on their severity. This approach is expected to provide immediate relief while ensuring sustainable solutions for the future.

The Chief Minister's focus on these critical areas reflects his commitment to improving living conditions in Andhra Pradesh. By addressing road infrastructure, sand availability, and essential commodity prices, Naidu aims to mitigate some of the pressing problems faced by residents.
