Akhilesh Yadav pitches for promotion of Khadi

Lucknow, May 26: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said his government will give all help to promote and modernise Khadi products in tune with current market demand.

"Khadi needs publicity. If not publicised, Khadi will lag behind. The state government will extend all possible help in promoting these products," Akhilesh said while launching various schemes of Khadi and Village Industries department.

He said Khadi products provide employment to the poor on a large scale and improve their economic status.

Appreciating efforts made by NIFT at Rae Bareli to popularise Khadi, he said that there was a need to change these products as per current situation.
