Hyderabad Weather Update: IMD Says No Heavy Rain Till July 11, Yellow Alert For Thunderstorms Remains

The residents of the state are expected to get a respite from the recent heavy rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has mentioned that there won't be any chances of heavy showers in the state till Saturday, July 11. There will be isolated rain in some places but a heavy rain warning has not been issued to any district in the period.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Thunderstorms And Lightning

Despite the heavy rain threat having abated, the IMD has put Telangana in a yellow alert till July 8 in case of thunderstorms with lightning. The advisory is for several districts where weather might become unsettled over the next several days.

The department has urged residents to be wary during thunderstorm activity, even though heavy rain is not likely to be widespread throughout the state.

Telangana Weatherman Predicts Decline In Rainfall

Weather buff T. Balaji or Telangana Weatherman, popular on X, also indicated that all the showers seen in the last three days would weaken and become weak in the coming days.

He wrote, "After decent LPA rains over the last 3 days, rains will reduce in many parts of Telangana from today."

Sharing his district-wise outlook, he added, "Today, scattered moderate rains ahead in Central, East, West, and North Telangana, including Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, and Mancherial during evening to night."

For Hyderabad, Balaji said, "Dry during most of the day, passing short rains ahead during evening-night at a few places."

Despite the decrease in rain, strong gusty winds of 50-60 kmph would persist in Telangana, he added.

Hyderabad Expected To Receive Only Light Showers

Heavy rainfall has been witnessed in the past few days in Hyderabad and the weather is likely to be relatively calm. The IMD forecast calls for light occasional rainfall in the city till Tuesday, July 7.

The weather office has not alerted for any rain in Hyderabad and there are no severe weather conditions expected in the city in the coming days.

Sangareddy Records Highest Rainfall In State

The Telangana Development Planning Society (TDPS) data revealed that Sangareddy had the highest rainfall of 56.3 mm in the state on the day before.

In comparison, Hyderabad had received significantly lesser rainfall with 2.3 mm rainfall received in Saidabad. The latest figures indicate a significant disparity in intensity of rainfall across Telangana where the weather activity starts to weaken gradually.
