Akhilesh announces Rs 6-crore cash prize for Olympic gold medal winners

Akhilesh also announced Rs 4 and Rs 2 crore for silver and bronze medal winners respectively.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister announced these cash prizes while addressing the inaugural function of the 35th National Junior Rowing Championship, says a Business Standard report.
Speaking about cleaniness of Ganga, he also said that the State Government would fully cooperate with the Centre in cleaning of rivers.
"Rivers are part of our culture and identity. We will work to save the rivers. The government would fully cooperate in cleaning of rivers", he said.
Yadav was recently nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with eight other public figures to promote the cleanliness programme in the State.
