JJP Chief Slams INLD for Shifting Stance on Congress Alliance

Ajay Singh Chautala, JJP chief, has criticized the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for their readiness to align with the Congress. His comments follow his brother Abhay Singh Chautala's recent statement that he would invite the Congress to the party's Kaithal rally marking former deputy prime minister Chaudhary Devi Lal's birth anniversary.

In a recent political development, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) chief Ajay Singh Chautala launched a blistering attack on the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), accusing it of abandoning its long-standing opposition to the Congress party. The INLD is led by his father, former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, and senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala is his younger brother.

Allegations of Political Opportunism

Ajay Singh Chautala INLD Congress

Ajay Singh Chautala's criticism came in response to Abhay Singh Chautala's recent statement indicating his willingness to invite the Congress party for the upcoming Kaithal rally. This event, scheduled for September 25th, will mark the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal.

"I was reading in the newspaper that Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala and the INLD, which opposed the Congress for its entire life, are saying if Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda comes to Samman Divas rally on September 25 they will welcome him," said Ajay Singh Chautala during a public address.

JJP's Standpoint

The JJP leader further highlighted what he perceived as hypocrisy within INLD ranks. He pointed out that while they had previously criticized JJP for allying with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), they were now open to collaborating with their erstwhile adversary -Congress. "While they used to target us JJP for joining hands with BJP, now they are ready to sit in Congress' lap," he remarked.

Claims of Wasted Resources

Ajay Singh also made allegations about wasteful expenditure by INLD leadership. He claimed that train tickets had been booked by INLD to Patna, Mumbai, and Bengaluru for party leaders to attend the INDIA bloc meetings. However, these tickets reportedly went unused.

Conclusion

The unfolding political drama in Haryana underscores the fluid dynamics of Indian politics where alliances are often formed and dissolved based on changing circumstances and strategic considerations. The allegations made by Ajay Singh Chautala against his own family's political outfit have added a new twist to this narrative. It remains to be seen how these developments will impact the forthcoming rally and more importantly, the larger political landscape of Haryana.
