Air India Flight AI 315 Experiences Tail Fire Shortly After Landing At Delhi Airport

An Air India aircraft experienced a tail fire shortly after landing at Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport from Hong Kong. The incident occurred on July 22, 2025, involving Flight AI 315. Fortunately, all passengers and crew safely disembarked. The airline has grounded the plane for further investigation and informed the regulator.

Investigation Underway

The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) confirmed that the fire was extinguished and an investigation is ongoing. An Air India spokesperson stated, "Flight AI 315, operating from Hong Kong to Delhi on 22 July 2025, experienced an auxiliary power unit (APU) fire shortly after it had landed and parked at the gate."

Recent Air India Incidents

On Monday, two other Air India flights faced issues. A Kolkata-bound plane aborted takeoff at Delhi due to a technical snag. Another flight from Kochi to Mumbai veered off the runway during heavy rain but taxied safely to the gate. All passengers disembarked without injury.

IndiGo Emergency Landing

In a separate event, an IndiGo flight from Goa to Indore made an emergency landing due to a landing gear issue. Flight 6E 813 landed safely in Indore with 140 passengers onboard. The aircraft will undergo checks before resuming service.
