After Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi, it's Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is at the receiving end of 'missing' posters in UP. Posters of disappearance from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituencyhas gone viral on social media.

Missing poster of PM Modi at Varanasi

Angry with their leader's long absence from his Parliamentary constituency, the people of Varanasi have put up notices in the busy markets and bustling areas, claiming that Modi has gone missing from her political seat.

The posters, which did not carry any name, quoted lines from a 'ghazal' sung by acclaimed 'ghazal' singer Jagjeet Singh. ''Jane woh kaun sa deshjahan tum chale gaye'' (one does not know to which country have you gone), the posters, which carried a picture of Modi, said.

The Uttar Pradesh government, however, sprung in action and removed the posters overnight. No one has yet claimed the responsibility for the posters.

According to reports, the police is looking for the culprits behind the posters. CCTV footages in many areas are being seen to find out who plastered the city walls with the posters.

It seems, has been witnessing a 'missing poster' war though it is not clear, who are the warriors.

Earlier, similar 'missing' posters had emerged in Amethi which is represented by the constituency's MP Rahul Gandhi.
