BJP Accuses AAP of Assisting Illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis for Electoral Gains in Delhi

The BJP has accused the AAP of aiding illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants in Delhi by providing them with official documents. The BJP claims these immigrants are then used as a vote bank. No response from the AAP was immediately available regarding these allegations.

BJP Claims AAP Aids Illegal Immigrants

Former BJP MP Parvesh Verma stated, "We all know they do not vote for the BJP... they are AAP's vote bank." Verma alleged that once illegal immigrants set up temporary shelters in the city, AAP leaders assisted them by providing official documents like ration cards to secure their votes in elections. Preparing for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Verma claimed to have identified areas with high concentrations of such individuals and filed a complaint with the district magistrate for action.

Allegations and Political Tensions

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of being unsettled by the BJP's demand for an investigation into illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya voters. Sachdeva suggested that these illegal voters might be crucial to AAP's electoral success in Delhi. Meanwhile, a BJP delegation met with Election Commission officials, alleging that illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshis were registered as voters in Delhi at AAP's behest.

In a post on X, Arvind Kejriwal alleged, without naming anyone, "They have started buying votes in my constituency. Openly giving Rs 1,000 cash per vote." Kejriwal has previously advised voters to accept money from the BJP but to vote for the AAP instead.

Legal Actions and Arrests

On Tuesday, Delhi Police arrested 11 individuals linked to a gang involved in illegally immigrating Bangladeshi nationals. Among those arrested, four were identified as Bangladeshi citizens, while others were allegedly involved in creating forged documents, according to an official statement.

The political climate in Delhi remains tense as accusations fly between parties. The focus is on illegal immigration and its potential impact on voter demographics. As elections approach, these issues are likely to remain at the forefront of political discourse.
