6 TMC leaders leave Assam after overnight detention
Silchar, Aug 3: Six Trinamool Congress leaders leave Assam after overnight detention at Silchar airport on Friday. Two others to leave later in the day. The Cachar district DC told PTI about the development.
A delegation of eight TMC leader -six MPs and two MLAs- were detained at the Sichar airport in Assam. The party members had alleged that they were manhandled at the airport.

The delegation reached Assam on Thursday to assess the situation in the state in the wake of the publication of the complete draft of the NRC.
SS Roy, TMC MP, said, "77 passengers in the same aircraft were allowed to move out. Only 6 of us were not allowed. We had to cancel our public meeting. We just wanted to have on-the-spot study of the situation."
