Hyderabad Weather Update: Telangana’s Northern, Eastern Districts Brace For March 2–7 Heatwave

After a brief spell of unseasonal showers, Telangana is now moving quickly into summer conditions, with dry winds expected to begin sweeping across several districts from Thursday, February 26. Weather watchers say the short-lived rain marked the final interruption before a steady rise in temperatures across the state.

Temperatures To Climb After February 28

Weather enthusiast T Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman, said the mercury will start increasing in a phased manner over the coming days. He noted that intense heat will begin establishing itself once February ends.

Hyderabad is also likely to feel the impact, with daytime temperatures expected to climb beyond 37 degree Celsius during this period.

Heatwave Conditions Between March 2 and 7

Balaji has warned of a heatwave spell from March 2 to March 7, particularly affecting the northern and eastern districts of Telangana. During this phase, temperatures could reach as high as 40 degree Celsius in several areas.

The early arrival of such conditions suggests a harsher pre-summer period than usual, prompting residents to prepare for prolonged exposure to hot and dry weather.

Brief Localised Showers Still Possible

Even as the broader outlook remains dry, a few pockets may still see light rainfall activity. Kukatpally, Serilingampally and Gachibowli may receive a short shower lasting around 10 to 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, isolated rain is expected in Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar within the next couple of hours, while most other regions of Telangana are forecast to stay dry.
