Dispute Over Sharing Cigarette And Alcohol Glass Turns Fatal; Brother Pushes Other To Death

A late-night argument over trivial issues allegedly turned fatal in Hyderabad's Nacharam area, where a 29-year-old man has been arrested for killing his stepbrother by pushing him off a terrace, police said.

The incident took place on Wednesday night following a heated confrontation that escalated after alcohol consumption. The victim, identified as Rohan, suffered fatal head injuries after falling from the terrace of his house.

How the Incident Unfolded

According to the police, Rohan was on the terrace with his friend Xavier Rohith, where they were flying kites and drinking alcohol. Around 9.30 pm, the accused, Leonard Angelo Sayars, who is Rohan's stepbrother, arrived at the house after being called.

Police said there was existing tension between the two due to past disagreements. While drinking, an argument broke out between them over sharing glasses and cigarettes. What began as a verbal exchange soon turned violent.

By around 11 pm, the fight escalated into a physical assault. Police stated that Leonard allegedly grabbed Rohan, pinned him against a wall and then pushed him off the terrace.

Victim Dies During Treatment, Accused Arrested

Rohan was rushed to a nearby private hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment due to severe head injuries.

Police registered a case of murder and arrested the accused shortly after the incident. Officials said they are continuing the investigation to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine the role of alcohol and earlier disputes.
