Kamakhya Devi Corridor To FIFA Like Football Stadium: PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth Rs 11000 Cr In Assam

Amid the chants of Jai Shri Ram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced several development projects for Assam, which will give a social and economic boost to the state.

PM Modi also inaugurated the Kamakhya Devi temple corridor, a similar project to the Kashi Vishwanath corridor. Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma and other top party leaders.

According to the reports, the new development projects include a six-lane road connecting the new airport terminal in Guwahati, and the upgradation of a football stadium, Nehru Stadium, to FIFA-like standards.

The reports said PM Modi also inaugurated the Asom Mala project which includes 38 bridges and 43 new roads worth Rs 3,444 crore.

On his visit to Guwahati, Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, and the Karimganj Medical College and Hospital. A Unity Mall in Guwahati has also been proposed by the Assam Government.

The reports added that PM Modi also cut the ribbon for the development of two newly constructed four-lane roads- one from Dolabari to Jamuguri and the second from Biswanath Chariali to Gohpur.

These projects are worth over Rs 11000 crore which will take Assam to new heights.

While addressing a sea of supporters in the capital of Assam, MP Modi said, "After independence those who were in power for years, even they could not understand the importance of the sacred places of worship. For political benefits, they started a trend of being ashamed of their own culture and history. No country can progress by neglecting its history. But, in the last ten years the situation in the country has changed."
