Prominent Socialist Party politician in France and former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Strauss-Kahn has been acquitted of aggravated pimping charges by a French court.

- Strauss-Kahn was born on 25 April 1949 in Paris.
- Strauss-Kahn has been a prominent Socialist Party politician in France.
- He graduated from the prestigious business school HEC Paris in 1971, and the elite Sciences-Po in 1972.
- From 1977 to 1981, Strauss-Kahn served at the University of Nancy-II and University of Nanterre.
- He joined Socialist Party in 1981; he was first elected to French parliament in 1986.
- He is known for his business and political acumen, and being a ladies' man.
- In 2008, he was investigated for an affair with an IMF employee.
- In 2011, he was arrested for sexually assaulting a hotel maid in New York City. The charges were eventually dismissed.
- On the heels of electoral defeat in 19193 Strauss-Kahn left politics in favor of a lucrative career in the private sector, working as a corporate lawyer.
