Yuva Rajkumar's Father-in-Law Breaks Silence On Divorce, Hopes For Reconciliation

Paduvarahalli Byrappa, the father-in-law of Kannada actor Yuva Rajkumar, has broken his silence over the reports of his daughter Sridevi receiving a divorce notice.

In an interview with News First, Byrappa expressed his hope that the marriage can be salvaged and urged for a resolution to the dispute to keep the couple together.

He disclosed that his daughter is pursuing an MBA in the US, a move initiated by her husband's family for her higher education.

Byrappa clarified that Sridevi's marriage was arranged under pressure from the Raghavendra Rajkumar family, and initially, he was not enthusiastic about the alliance. Despite this, he highlighted that their relationship was initially harmonious, with issues arising only after Sridevi relocated to the US.

According to Byrappa, Yuva last visited their home in December, mere weeks before filing for divorce. He anticipates Sridevi's return to India soon to address the divorce notice.

Yuva Rajkumar, the grandson of the late Sandalwood icon Dr. Rajkumar, has reportedly filed for divorce from Sridevi Byrappa citing cruelty under Section 13(1)(a) of the Hindu Marriage Act.

Reports indicate that Sridevi has been residing separately for over a year, her absence notably observed during the release of Yuva Rajkumar's debut film, 'Yuva,' in March.

Yuva and Sridevi, originally known as Guru, were friends for over seven years before tying the knot. Despite initial familial opposition, their relationship gained approval through the intervention of the late Puneeth Rajkumar.

Reports claim that members from both the family try to resolve the issue but their efforts have gone in vain.

The next hearing is scheduled for July 4.

Yuva Rajkumar, the son of veteran actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, hails from a family deeply rooted in the Sandalwood industry. His brother Vinay is also an established actor in the Kannada film industry.

Yuva's journey in the world of cinema began at a young age when he made his debut as a child artiste in the iconic film 'Om,' directed by Upendra and starring his uncle Shivaraj Kumar.

While he initially started his career behind the scenes, Yuva ventured into production and was credited as a producer for the films 'Siddhartha' (2015) and 'Run Antony' (2016), both featuring his brother Vinay in lead roles.

In addition to his work in production, Yuva showcased his versatility by lending his voice to a song in Puneeth Rajkumar's last movie, 'James,' adding another dimension to his multifaceted talents.
