Yash Becomes Highest Paid Villain In India: His Remuneration For Ramayan Will Shock You

In a groundbreaking development in Indian cinema, Kannada actor Yash has emerged as the highest-paid villain. He is set to earn over Rs 200 crore for his role as Ravan in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film, Ramayan, Hindustan Times reported.

This fee surpasses the earnings of many leading actors, including Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. The portrayal of villains in Hindi films has evolved significantly over time. Previously, character actors like Amrish Puri and Shakti Kapoor were typecast into negative roles.

However, the importance of villainous roles has grown, with mainstream heroes now taking on such parts in big-budget productions.

Yash's Record-Breaking Earnings

Yash's remuneration for Ramayan is unprecedented in the industry. His total earnings from the film, including distribution shares, amount to Rs 200 crore. This figure exceeds that of the film's lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor, the report added. The movie itself is expected to be one of the most expensive ever made in India.

It is interesting to note that leading actors like Salman Khan and Prabhas usually earn between Rs 120 crore and Rs 180 crore per film. As a result, Yash's fee sets a new benchmark. Only Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth have surpassed this with their earnings for Dangal and Jailer, respectively.

The Anticipated Ramayan Film

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan is anticipated to be a two-part cinematic adaptation of Valmiki's epic. The first part is expected to hit theatres next year. Alongside Yash, the film will feature Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in significant roles.

This shift towards higher pay for villains reflects broader changes in the industry. As heroes' salaries have risen, so too have those of actors playing antagonistic roles. This trend highlights the growing significance of complex characters in modern storytelling.

Meanwhile, Yash took a break from his busy schedule and watched Upendra's newly-released Kannada movie UI at a celebrity premiere held in Bengaluru. His pictures from the special show had gone viral.

Notably, the visuals of Yash hugging Sudeep in the presence of other dignitaries had gone viral.
