What Is The Budget Of Ranbir Kapoor-Yash's 'Ramayana'? It's Much Higher Than Rajinikanth And Prabhas Films
Yash and Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming movie 'Ramayana' is set to be made with an unprecedented scale as it is set to become the costliest movie ever made in the country.
Produced by Namit Malhotra, the multilingual movie will be made with the budget of Rs 835 crore, Bollywood Hungama reported citing a source.

"Ramayana is not just a film but an emotion and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a global spectacle," the website quoted a source as telling on the condition of anonymity.
Namit Malhotra is putting his best efforts to make the upcoming movie a blue spectacle. "The USD 100 Million [Rs. 835 crores] budget is just for Ramayana: Part One. He plans to expand this further as the franchise grows. The idea is to take the audience on a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram," the source added.
If true, 'Ramayana' will become the most expensive movie ever made in India. At this stage, Rajinikanth's '2.0' holds the record of being the highest-ever budget Indian film.
Lyca Productions had made the movie with a budget of Rs 570 crore.
For Ranbir, his earlier film 'Brahmastra' made in two parts was the costliest flick. The combined budget of the movies stood at Rs 450.
"In INR terms, the budget of Ramayana is close to Rs 835 crores. The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which in itself speaks volumes about the investment required to create some of the most original visuals on the spectacle. The idea is to take Indian Cinema at a global level," the source claimed.
The Nitesh Tiwari-directorial has Sai Pallavi playing the female lead. She will be doing the role of Sita while Ranbir will play Lord Ram. Yash will be seen in the role of demon king Ravana.
