Vijay's GOAT' Should Be 100 Times Greater Than My 'Mankatha': Ajith To Venkat Prabhu

Director Venkat Prabhu, in a recent interview, shared an intriguing anecdote about the camaraderie between two of Tamil cinema's biggest stars Vijay and Ajith Kumar.

Prabhu, who is currently working with Vijay on the highly anticipated film 'The Greates Of All Time' (GOAT), revealed that Vijay made a heartfelt gesture after Ajith's underwent a surgery in March 2024.

According to Prabhu, during a visit to Ajith, Vijay asked to speak with him directly. The two actors had a long and pleasant conversation, leaving Prabhu impressed by the positive and friendly dynamic between them. Prabhu noted, "They talked very happily and are very good friends," highlighting the mutual respect and warmth that exists between the two stars.

Ajith Kumar, in a show of encouragement, reportedly expressed high expectations for 'GOAT', stating early on that it should surpass the success of his previous hit, 'Mankatha'. "Ajith sir told me that 'GOAT' should be 100 times greater than 'Mankatha'."

These comments clearly show the mutual respect the two stars have on each other.

Prabhu also shared that Vijay is extremely enthusiastic about 'GOAT'. He mentioned that Vijay's excitement about the film is unprecedented, with close associates noting that they've never seen him speak so highly of a project before its release.

Reflecting on the film's progress, Prabhu confidently stated that 'GOAT' has the potential to exceed the success of Mankatha. He added that while he believes his latest Tamil filmis a step up from his previous work, the ultimate judgment will rest with the audience.

While the trailer of 'GOAT' is likely to be out in next few days, the movie is scheduled for release on September 5.
