Swara Bhasker Slams Trolls For Mocking Her 'Conservative' Sartorial Choices Post Marriage

Actor Swara Bhasker is well known for speaking her mind, especially when it comes to online trolls who target her personal life and choices. Her latest retort was aimed at those mocking her 'conservative' attire following her marriage to NCP leader Fahad Ahmad.

Swara shared a meme featuring a picture of her with her husband Fahad and Maulana Sajjad Nomani, in which she is seen wearing a simple salwar-kurta with her head covered by a dupatta. The meme compared this image to a glamorous shot of Swara from her acting days, captioned "before-after," suggesting that she had become 'conservative' after her marriage.

Accompanying the meme, Swara posted several other pictures of herself after her marriage, including two with Fahad, where she wore Western outfits such as dresses and an off-shoulder gown. She wrote, "I didn't realise my wardrobe choices post marriage are a national cyber debate (bizarre!).. Here are more pics of me post marriage to give Sanghi vermin more fodder for their dung."

Swara also mocked the trolls for involving her husband and his religion in their criticism, adding, "I'm sorry @FahadZirarAhmad doesn't fit your stereotype of a conservative Muslim husband. Lol!"

Swara married Fahad Ahmad, a student activist and politician, in February 2023, and they welcomed their daughter, Rabiya, in September of the same year. Fahad, who was formerly with the Samajwadi Party, joined the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) and contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024 from the Anushakti Nagar constituency in Mumbai south-central.

Swara was last seen in the 2022 films 'Jahaan Chaar Yaar' and 'Mimansa'. She will next be seen in 'Mrs Falani', though its release date has not yet been announced.
