'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' Release Date 2026; What To Expect
'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' is set to hit theaters on June 26th, 2026, according to Variety magazine. The movie is another one out of 10 projects created by James Gunn and Peter Safran for the DCU.
The role of Supergirl will be played by Milly Alcock, whose name recently caught on thanks to her lead role in a television series 'House Of The Dragon', a prequal to 'Game Of Thrones'. In it, she played the role of a younger version of 'Rhaenyra Targaryen'.

The plotline of the project is based on the 2022 comic series of the same name, written by Tom King and drawn by Bilquis Evely. A rough summary of the plot tells us that Supergirl, when she reached Earth to protect her cousin, Superman, found out he didn't need her protection at all. In fact, he was doing so well for himself that Supergirl found herself in the shadow of his fame and success.
Sidenote: This may imply that we will see Milly Alcock as Supergirl as early as 2025 as a cameo or even a sidekick in the film 'Superman'.
Frustrated by being outshadowed by her cousin, she flies off back into outer space in search of another purpose alongside her super-dog, Krypto. As she flies further into the vast beyond, she comes across an alien girl who begs her for revenge against the people who destroyed her planet. So the three, Supergirl, Krypto the Dog, and an alien space girl prepare for a journey that is implied to show a much more hardcore side of the character than her previous iterations, as James Gunn said during his 2023 announcement of the DCU projects.
With the confirmation of the release date of 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow', we have the confirmed dates for theatrical releases for two out of the ten projects announced by James Gunn in 2023.
