Respect Other People's Privacy: Nagarjuna Slams Konda Surekha's Comments On Samantha-Naga Chaitanya's Divorce

Veteran actor Nagarjuna has criticized Telangana minister and Congress leader Konda Surekha for her remarks about his son and actor Naga Chaitanya's divorce from his former wife Samantha.

In a statement shared on his X account, he said, "I strongly condemn the comments made by Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Do not use the personal lives of movie stars, who remain outside of politics, to target your political opponents. Please respect their privacy. As a woman holding a responsible position, your accusations against our family are both irrelevant and false. I urge you to retract your statements immediately."

What did the minister say?

In a viral video, Konda Surekha alleged that Telangana minister KTR was involved in Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's separation. She further accused him of influencing actors to leave the film industry and alleged that he used drugs and hosted rave parties, manipulating and blackmailing actors. KTR has yet to respond to these claims.

Konda Surekha, the MLA from Warangal East, currently serves as the Cabinet Minister for Forest, Environment, and Endowments in Revanth Reddy's government.

Meanwhile, actor Prakash Raj condemned Surekha's comments, stating, "What shameless politics... are women who act in movies somehow lesser?"

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha were once Tollywood's most celebrated couple. After years of dating, they married in 2017 but announced their separation in 2021, leaving fans shocked.

In a joint statement, the former couple on their divorce had said: "To all our well-wishers, after much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support,"

However, the actors have moved on in their lives. In fact, Naga Chaitanya got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala in August.
