Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to hit the screens this Thursday, promising a thrilling sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Directed by Sukumar, the action-packed movie stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, with Fahadh Faasil portraying the formidable antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS.

Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) is living a content married life when his wife, Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna), makes an unusual request: she wants him to pose for a photograph with the state's Chief Minister. Well, the CM turns down his request stating that he cannot take a picture with a smuggler.

Deeply insulted by this development, Pushpa resolves to elevate his friend Siddappa (Rao Ramesh) to the position of Chief Minister. This ambitious goal requires him to amass Rs 500 crore by intensifying his red sandalwood smuggling operations. On the other hand, there is SP Shekawat (Fahadh Faasil) who is waiting for a right opportunity to strike back. The drama that unfolds in the due course forms the crux of the story.

Venky Reviews: #Pushpa2 is a Decently Packaged Commercial Entertainer with a Good 1st Half and a 2nd Half that started well but drops pace significantly in the last hour.

The first half starts right where Part 1 ends. This half runs purely on drama which feels slightly slow at times but Pushpa's characterization and the dialogues run the show.

The second half starts well and the Jathara sequence came out superbly but after this sequence, the film dips drastically in the last hour with no aim and gets dragged out till the end.

Allu Arjun is absolutely terrific again in this and proves once again why he is one of the most talented actors across India. He deserves all the praise.

The length and the last hour are the biggest drawbacks for the film and a better climax would've made a big difference.

The film may not have reached the full expectations, but it ends up being a decent commercial entertainer backed by Allu Arjun's terrific performance that deserves a watch.

The lead for Part 3 is completely unnecessary and the film could've ended after a key point in the second half which would've made it unanimous in terms of content but the film drags on for 45 mins after that which hampers it towards the end.

#Sukumar knows well that #Pushpa2 carries the weight of humongous expectations and he delivers by crafting a narrative that's packed with unexpected twists and turns, precisely why #Pushpa2 works bigtime.

Another plus is the high-octane action sequences, meticulously choreographed to perfection... Additionally, the dialogues, much like in the first part, amplify the impact of the well-structured sequences.

Now, to the vital question: Is the runtime [3 hours, 20 minutes] excessive? Could certain scenes have been trimmed for a tighter narrative? Absolutely not. Editor #NaveenNooli's editing is watertight, ensuring the pacing remains taut and leaving no room for restlessness.

Music? While #Pushpa2 may not have a soundtrack that grabs you on the first listen, #DSP's compositions come alive on screen, perfectly complementing the narrative.

#Pushpa2 cements #AlluArjun's status as one of #India's finest actors. His trademark swag and impeccable dialogue delivery add tremendous depth to his performance.

#FahadhFaasil, as the ruthless police officer, is outstanding. An incredible talent... #RashmikaMandanna also makes her presence felt at key moments, despite the focus being on the two male leads.
