The cine-goers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu have a few interesting movies lined up for release on the OTT plaform.

While the viewers can enjoy 'Kalki 2898 AD' in theatres, they can binge-watch variety of content in the first week of July. Here, we bring you the list of Malayalam series/movies releasing this week.

Malayalee From India

'Malayalee from India' is a comedy-drama film directed by Dijo Jose Antony, written by Sharis Mohammed, and produced by Listin Stephen for Magic Frames. The movie stars Nivin Pauly, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles, with Deepak Jethi and Shine Tom Chacko in supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.

Released on May 1, 2024, 'Malayalee from India' received mixed reviews. Critics praised the performances and soundtrack but criticized the writing, screenplay, and pacing. The film will be available on SonyLiv starting July 5.

Turbo

'Turbo' is a Malayalam-language action-comedy film directed by Vysakh, written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, and produced by Mammootty. Mammootty stars in the titular role, with Raj B Shetty, Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anjana Jayaprakash, Niranjana Anoop, Bindu Panicker, Dileesh Pothan, and Shabareesh Varma in supporting roles. The music is composed by Christo Xavier, with cinematography by Vishnu Sarma and editing by Shameer Muhammed.

The film was released theatrically on May 23, 2024, to mixed reviews from critics. It will be out on SonyLiv.

Garudan

'Garudan' is a Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, based on a story by Vetrimaaran. It is jointly produced by Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company and K. Kumar's Lark Studios. The film stars Soori, M. Sasikumar, and Unni Mukundan in lead roles, with Roshini Haripriyan, Sshivada, Revathi Sharma, Samuthirakani, Vadivukkarasi, RV Udayakumar, and Mime Gopi in supporting roles. The story follows Sokkan, a trusted confidant of two childhood friends, Aadhi and Karuna, whose loyalty is tested by betrayal and survival dynamics. It will be out on Amazon Prime.

Haraa

'Haraa' tells the story of a common man who witnesses social injustices and corruption daily. After experiencing a personal tragedy, he decides to take action. The film features Mohan, returning to the screen after a 14-year hiatus, along with Anumol in a significant role. Yogi Babu, a popular comedian, adds humor, while Suresh Menon plays the antagonist.

'Haraa' is available for streaming on the Aha Tamil OTT platform.
