'Kalki 2898 AD' 5-Day Box Office Collection: Prabhas' Film Earns Rs 343.6 Crore In India

Prabhas' futuristic epic 'Kalki 2898 AD' made a colossal debut on June 27, captivating audiences across India and beyond. According to sacnilk.com, the multilingual film amassed an impressive Rs 343.6 crore nett in India across all languages by Monday.

The film kicked off with a stellar opening, grossing Rs 95.3 crore on its first day and maintaining strong momentum with Rs 57.6 crore on Friday. By day five, it had accumulated Rs 34.6 crore, contributing to its cumulative total.

Over the weekend, 'Kalki 2898 AD' saw a surge in collections, earning Rs 66.2 crore on Saturday and Rs 88.2 crore on Sunday, before experiencing a slight dip on Monday. Released in multiple south Indian languages and Hindi, the film was presented in both 2D and 3D formats.

According to the film's production team, this multilingual 3D spectacle swiftly entered the prestigious Rs 500 crore club within four days of its global release, marking a significant milestone in its worldwide box office journey.

On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan, who portrays the character Ashwatthama in the film, finally watched 'Kalki 2898 AD'. His son Abhishek Bachchan hailed the movie and wrote: "#Kalki2898AD = (mind-blown emoticon) Wow!" after watching the film with his father.

"'Kalki 2898 AD' masterfully intertwines sci-fi with mythology, casting Prabhas as Bhairava, a relentless bounty hunter from Kashi, and Deepika Padukone as SUM-80, an enigmatic test subject. Amitabh Bachchan brings to life the character of Ashwatthama from Indian mythology, while Kamal Haasan portrays Supreme Yaskin, the leader of the Complex. Set 6000 years after the Mahabharata war, the story delves into Bhairava's journey, navigating complex challenges brought by Ashwatthama.

The film's star-studded ensemble also features Disha Patani as Roxie, along with cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, Dulquer Salmaan, Faria Abdullah, and others. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic spectacle, inspired by Hindu scriptures, is mounted on an impressive budget of Rs 600 crore."
