Is Darshan Coming Out Of Jail To Attend Upendra's 'UI' Event In Bengaluru?

A court in Bengaluru had extended the judicial custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and others, until September 17. They are all accused in the shocking Renukaswamy murder case.

As details about the case continue to emerge, rumours have surfaced on social media that Darshan may be released from jail temporarily to attend an event related to Upendra's much-anticipated film 'UI'. The multilingual film, originally slated for release on September 18, coinciding with Upendra's birthday, has been delayed due to pending post-production work and unfinished promotional activities. Upendra is reportedly planning a grand promotional event for the movie, fueling speculation that Darshan could be a special guest.

Is Darshan Coming Out Of Jail

However, these rumors are unfounded, as no court order has been issued for Darshan's release from custody. The actor remains lodged in Ballari prison, alongside 16 other individuals linked to the case.

Last week, all 17 accused, including Darshan and Pavithra, appeared before the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate via video conferencing from various prisons across the state. This followed the submission of a 3,991-page preliminary chargesheet by the police on September 4.

Darshan was initially housed at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, but after a controversial photograph surfaced showing him interactig with three others, including a known rowdy-sheeter, he was transferred to Ballari prison. This viral image sparked public outrage, leading authorities to relocate him with court approval.

33-year-old Renukaswamy had allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra. He was kidnapped by the aides of the actor, lodged at a shed in Kamakshi Palya and brutally assaulted to death on June 8.
