Is 'Annapoorani' Movie On Netflix Anti-Hindu? Boycott Netflix Trends Over Lord Ram Reference
Nayanthara's most recent movie, 'Annapoorani,' has stirred controversy due to a controversial reference to Lord Ram. The film, available on Netflix, stars Nayanthara in the lead role. Despite receiving mixed reviews, it faced criticism from former Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Solanki, who lodged a police complaint, alleging that it has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.
Taking to X, users have propelled the hashtag #BoycottNetflix, drawing attention to alleged anti-Hindu sentiments in 'Annapoorani.' Solanki, in particular, accused the film of being 'anti-Hindu' and pointed out specific scenes, notably one implying Lord Ram as a 'meat eater.' In his complaint, he strongly disapproved, stating, "I have filed a complaint against #AntiHinduZee and #AntiHinduNetflix."

The timing of the film's release, juxtaposed with the global anticipation surrounding the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Shri Ram Mandir, has amplified discontent among viewers. 'Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food,' produced by Zee Studios, Naad Sstudios, and Trident Arts, is currently available for streaming on Netflix and was directed by debutant Nilesh Krishnaa.
