American singer and actress Selena Gomez is currently in a viral video circulating on social media, where an Indian fan recently asked her to chant "Jai Shri Ram."

In the clip, the fan requests Gomez to say, "Say Jai Shree Ram," in celebration of Diwali 2024. The phrase, a traditional Hindu chant, translates to "Victory to Lord Ram."

Looking slightly perplexed, Selena smiles and, instead of repeating it, simply responds, "Thank you, honey."

The video has drawn critical responses online. One user remarked, "I am embarrassed on his behalf!" while another, who identified as Hindu, commented, "I'm Hindu, and this is embarrassing." A third added, "Of all things, you chose to make her say Jai Shri Ram... bro, you ruined your only chance." Another comment read, "Krva li bezzati" ("Got yourself humiliated").

The video appears to be from the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, based on Selena's outfit. At the festival, she won the Best Actress award for her role as Jessi in *Emilia Pérez*.
