'Goat' First Day Box Office Collection (Tamil Nadu): Vijay's Film Fails To Beat Ajith's 'Valimai'
Vijay's latest film 'The Greatest Of All Time' (GOAT) has made a strong debut at the worldwide box office, opening to solid numbers, especially in its home state of Tamil Nadu. However, it fell short of breaking new records in Kollywood.
On its first day, the Tamil version of the film grossed Rs 43 crore across India. Tamil Nadu alone contributed a significant Rs 31.56 crore to this total. Despite the impressive figures, the movie failed to surpass the record set by Ajith's 'Valimai', which holds the title of the biggest opener in Kollywood with Rs 34 crore on its opening day.

'GOAT' now sits just behind Vijay's previous films like 'Sarkar' (Rs 31.5 crore) and 'Leo' (Rs 30.03 crore), as well as Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' (Rs 26.5 crore) and Vijay's 'Beast' (Rs 26 crore). Vijay's earlier sports drama, 'Bigil', had also garnered a substantial Rs 25.6 crore on its first day.
The Tamil version of 'The Greatest Of All Time' enjoyed high occupancy rates in theaters on its opening day, signaling a positive reception from audiences. The morning shows recorded an occupancy rate of 69.74%, indicating a strong start for the film. As the day went on, audience interest continued to build, with afternoon shows reaching 71.48% occupancy. The momentum carried into the evening, with shows hitting the highest occupancy rate of 78.36%, and night shows achieving an impressive 85.33% occupancy. Overall, the film had an average occupancy rate of 76.23% on its first day, reflecting a solid turnout from fans, according to Sacnik.
The movie's performance extended beyond Tamil Nadu, with earnings of over Rs 3 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Rs 5 crore in Kerala, and Rs 8 crore in Karnataka. These figures demonstrate the film's broad appeal across South India.
With a strong start and positive audience reception, 'The Greatest Of All Time' has laid a solid foundation for its performance in the coming days. As the movie continues its run in theaters, all eyes will be on how it performs in the subsequent days and whether it can sustain its momentum at the box office.
