In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, Akash confirmed that discussions are indeed underway but clarified that the project is still in its early stages. "Yes, Dhanush's film with Ajith Kumar is still in the initial stages. The discussion is on," he said, adding that nothing is set in stone yet, Pinkvilla reported.

If this collaboration materializes, it will mark a historic moment in Tamil cinema, bringing together two powerhouse talents-Dhanush, who recently tasted success as a director, and Ajith Kumar, the star of Vidaamuyarchi. Interestingly, Dhanush isn't the only name in the race to direct Ajith. Big names like KGF director Prashanth Neel, Leo filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Jigarthanda creator Karthik Subbaraj are also reportedly in talks for a potential project with Thala.
