Amaran OTT Release: How Much Did Netflix Pay To Kamal Haasan For Digital Rights Of Sivakarthikeyan's Film?

Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran has emerged as his biggest box-office success to date, surpassing the Rs 300-crore mark at the worldwide box office.

The film joins an elite club as the ninth Tamil movie to achieve this milestone, following hits like Rajinikanth's Enthiran, Kabali, 2.0, Jailer, along with Bigil, Varisu, Leo, and The GOAT.

Amaran OTT Price

Featuring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, and Rahul Bose, Amaran draws inspiration from true military stories chronicled in the book series India's Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Its gripping narrative and standout performances have garnered widespread acclaim, bolstered by strong critical reviews and positive word-of-mouth.

Released on October 31, the movie has earned close to Rs 150 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. The movie has been praised for Siva and Sai Pallavi's performance backed by songs and technical aspects.

Fans are now eagerly awaiting the movie's OTT release. Reports suggest that Netflix has secured the digital rights for a hefty ₹60 crore from Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, with a tentative release date set for either December 5 or December 11.

Interestingly, the price paid for Amaran's OTT rights is comparatively lower than those for other blockbuster hits like Vettaiyan (₹90 crore), Vitaa Muyarchi (₹100 crore), and The GOAT (₹110 crore).
