A video of veteran Kannada actress Jyothi Bantwala seemingly getting possessed by a serpent spirit during a special pooja has gone viral, sparking widespread discussion among fans and the film industry. The incident occurred during a 'Nagaradhanae' ceremony, where the actress appeared to lose control of her body, with onlookers rushing to restrain her.

A series of sacred rituals, including 'Gana Homa', 'Ashlesha Bali', 'Mrityunjaya Homa', 'Sarpa Shanti', and 'Nagadevara pooje', were performed in hopes of fostering peace, prosperity, and stability within the industry. It comes at a time when the Sandalwood had come under negative light following the arrest of actor Darshan in Renuka Swamy murder case.

During the event at the Karnataka Artists' Association office in Chamrajpete, actress Jyoti was seen trembling uncontrollably, and those around her had to hold her firmly. The actress was consoled with water as the group looked on in shock.

What Jyothi Said?
Speaking about the incident, Jyoti said, "I felt a kind of vibration. I didn't know what was happening. This has occurred before, especially while doing aarti in temples. It usually happens in temples dedicated to Devi or Nagar. Once I take the 'Tirtha', the vibrations stop."

She elaborated on her spiritual experiences, noting, "It's not something that occurs everywhere, only in specific temples. Even when four people tried to hold me, they couldn't manage."

The actress, who has worked in over 400 TV shows in a career spanning four decades, is currently acting in the TV series Kendasampige, where she plays the wife of veteran actor Doddanna. She is also part of the popular serial 'Neenadhe Naa'.

However, Jyothi downplayed any concern over the incident. "I've never had a problem with it, and I've never felt the need to ask questions about it. When I did inquire once, I was told it's the power of God. Temples are not haunted by evil spirits. When the vibrations happen, it's like divine energy."

The State of the Kannada Film Industry
She also reflected on the current state of the Kannada film industry, which has faced significant challenges in recent years. "The industry has been in decline, with producers struggle to recover their investments and artists left without work."

She noted that the 'poojas are performed with the hope of bringing good fortune to everyone in the industry. She said, "Darshan is going through a tough time, but this 'pooja' was done to bring success and relief not just to him, but to all of us."
