‘Vijay Government Won’t Last 6 Months’: DMK MLA Anitha Radhakrishnan’s Predicts Fall Of TVK Govt
Just weeks after Joseph Vijay and the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) scripted one of Tamil Nadu's biggest political upsets, senior DMK leader and Tiruchendur MLA Anitha Radhakrishnan has claimed that the Vijay-led government "will not survive beyond four to six months".
The longtime Tamil Nadu politician made the explosive remarks during a DMK event in southern Tamil Nadu, where he confidently predicted the return of former Chief Minister M. K. Stalin despite the DMK's massive defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections.

Speaking at a DMK event in southern Tamil Nadu, the Tiruchendur MLA confidently declared that former Chief Minister M. K. Stalin would soon return to power despite the DMK's shock defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections.
"Only four more months this government will survive," Radhakrishnan said while attacking the Vijay-led alliance government. His remarks come as political tensions between the DMK and TVK continue to intensify weeks after Vijay's massive election victory.
Anitha Radhakrishnan Throws Open Challenge To TVK MLA
During the speech, Radhakrishnan also directly challenged TVK's Villivakkam MLA Aadhav Arjuna to resign from his seat and contest against him in Tiruchendur.
"If you have guts, resign your MLA position, I will also do it. Let's face off in Tiruchendur. This is our town. We will defeat anyone," he declared.
Tiruchendur has remained Radhakrishnan's political stronghold for nearly 25 years. He first won the constituency in 2001 while contesting for the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) before later joining the DMK and continuing to retain the seat.
'Stalin Will Become CM Again'
Radhakrishnan also strongly defended MK Stalin after the former Chief Minister lost the Kolathur constituency to former DMK leader V. S. Babu, who joined TVK before the elections.
"We want our thalaivar MK Stalin to contest from Trichy. Stalin changed Kolathur like Singapore," he said.
Taking a swipe at voters who backed TVK in Kolathur, Radhakrishnan added, "After four or six months, our leader will become Chief Minister."
TVK's Massive Political Upset
Joseph Vijay's rise to power marked one of Tamil Nadu's biggest political upsets in decades. TVK won 108 Assembly seats in the 2026 elections, breaking the long-standing dominance of the DMK and AIADMK in the state.
The party later crossed the majority mark with support from Congress, Left parties and VCK allies, following days of political negotiations.
After taking oath as Chief Minister, Vijay comfortably won the trust vote in the Assembly. Since then, however, the DMK has continued attacking the TVK government over governance and administration, while TVK leaders have repeatedly dismissed claims that the government is unstable.
Neither Vijay's office nor TVK leaders have responded to Radhakrishnan's latest comments so far.
